What would your 'invade Australia' advertisement say?

Updated: 10:21AM Friday August 7, 2009

Two Australian advertising agencies have put together mock ads promoting an invasion of New Zealand.

The mock ads were prepared for TV programme The Gruen Transfer, which screens on ABC in Australia on Monday nights. The show includes a slot called "The Pitch" where two advertising agencies are pitted against each other and challenged with selling the unsellable.

Debate on this issue is now closed. Here a selection of Your Views:

Danni Thwaites (Victoria) Why wouldn't you Kiwi's want to be apart of Australia? We have a better sport (AFL), a better cricket team and better netball teams! We have Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, you have nothing. We have kangaroos and koala's.you have sheep. And if you really wanted to invade us you wouldn't have a chance. Your population is 4-5 million, ours is 21 million.
P.S. It's Aussies, not Ozzie's
P.P.S. I am an Aussie, born in Australia, so that's that matter resolved
P.P.P.S. The whole ad was a joke, but its 100% true!

Rodney (Howick) Australia? Where the bloody hell is that?

Lady Barbie Girl (Epsom) Or, "Come on brave Kiwis, don't be scared to visit Oz, because we're all locked up in prison"!

mchaggis (Kamo) "Oz, the land where in a crisis, the Aussies will all stick together and the reason for this is the fact that at one stage, many, many years ago, they were all chained together! By the way, no criminal record is required now to enter Oz."

mchaggis (Kamo) "Visit Oz, the country which now has the best rugby team in the world, thanks to their coach."
