Rodney Hide has said sorry.
Has this harmed his political career or can he bounce back?
The other debate about Hone has now been closed because, regrettably, it degenerated into a racist rant instead of a constructive debate.

I believe the only way Rodney can survive this, is if he does what he says and deals to the greedy inefficient councils. I read this week that CEOs of most Auck councils are paid over $400k! That is more than the Prime Minister.
Now how can that be right? How can I feel my rates are being used in a worthwhile way when I see such a blatent abuse of the ratepayers money. I wait to see if Rodney has any teeth, or if he is just another self-serving politician full of weasel words. Sharpen up Rodney.

I have never read so many letters from so many jealous people in all my life. You are all jealous that you are unable find a dumb bunch of idiots to pay for you to go on a nice holiday. Poor Hona Harawira has a lot to learn, but I am sure that if he asks the perk buster very nicely, he will tell him how to do it with style, and before he knows it he could also be dancing with the stars

This was a major blunder by Hide. It shows a huge miscalculation and misjudgement.
The only other two misjudgemts I have seen that exceed this are by John Key ignoring the referendum and by Hone Harawera showing his true colours.

Did you see the look in hides' eyes when he was making his apology? Emptiness. I hope they replay it.

What perks (backhanders) will be on offer during the restructure of Auckland city ? Is he still to be trusted in this role? Should we all just blindly believe that he will never be tempted again?
Believe his apology or not, I would rather see someone not tainted with the "perk abuser"brush reorganizing Auckland now.
And someone that more than 5% of voter's support would also be a good idea.
