Fans of Dancing with the Stars will be disappointed at TVNZ's decision to drop the show in 2010 due to the "recessionary environment".
A statement issued by TVNZ said the show's popularity had not translated into profits.
"The decision has been made, reluctantly, because the current market conditions do not support such an expensive show."
Should TVNZ have axed Dancing with the Stars? Here is the latest selection of Your Views:

Jason Gunn is so hansome. I couldnt keep my eyes of him, why not have a show of Jason with Marcus Lush together doing a dog trials show.
One question why not shut down TV1, it seems poor use of tax payer dollars when prime and TV3 seem to have better content

All "reality" shows should be axed.
If they want a dancing show, go back to the old format of having actual competitive dancers competing.

I'm with Barb of Paeroa (not physically though, although Paeroa is a nice place!)
Get rid of those bloody stupid cooking shows.
Cooking = heat it up and eat it, simple! Unless you're Japanese then you dont even need to heat it up.
How many shows do you need to tell us how to do this?

The show would have been profitable if we had real people as the star act. People who work real job's and raise real family's. Not some politician and soap opera freak's/celebritie's.
Tired of seeing celeb's on tele, show us some real tax payer face's. The backbone of this nation so to speak (factory workers /road work's /construction /health /truckee's /bus driver's /stormen /trade's etc). "Dancing with the public" now that's a show worthy of some good ratings!
